Common symptoms include urethral infection such as dysuria or pyuria. Men with gonorrhoea may also complain of testicular or scrotal pain. Symptoms usually appear in a week after infection.

People infected with syphilis at the primary stage normally have no symptoms. In case they do, a single sore or multiple sores can be found.

If left untreated, this can lead to AIDS which is the late stage of HIV infection occurring when the body’s immune system is severely damaged because of the virus.
